Vote Livonia
Stay Informed, Stay Prepared: Create Your Voting Plan
Ensuring that your vote is cast smoothly and comfortably begins with a simple plan. Many residents have found that deciding in advance whether they will vote by mail, vote early, or visit the polls on Election Day helps them avoid long lines, bad weather, or unexpected challenges. As the saying reminds us, “A community grows stronger every time one more voice is heard.” Taking just a few minutes now to choose the option that best suits your needs will ensure your ballot is counted and your voice continues to strengthen our community.
Precinct Refresh and Consolidation
Livonia residents received new voter ID cards in the mail last year as a direct result of a permanent consolidation of our precincts from 44 to 26. This change streamlines services and saves money, leading to a smoother voting process on Election Day!
If you tend to vote through absentee or early voting options, there are no changes to how you vote.
You can use our interactive map to find where you need to vote or view our PDF with a map included.

Early Voting Information and FAQs
What is an early voting site?
- An early voting site is like a polling place where voters can cast a ballot prior to Election Day.
- Voters from all precincts will vote at a single, shared site.
Is my early voting ballot secret?
- At early voting sites, voters insert their completed ballot into a tabulator.
- Once a ballot has been inserted into a tabulator, it cannot be traced back to a voter.
- Ballots inserted in the tabulator are sealed in secure containers.
- After the polls close on Election Day, all ballots submitted at an early voting site are totaled and reported in public view.
How do I vote early?
Taking the following steps can help you plan to vote early:
- Make sure you are registered to vote and that your voter registration address is up to date. Check your status or register online.
- Review a sample ballot online at Michigan.gov/Vote.
- Visit your early voting site during the early voting period to cast a ballot.
CITY OF LIVONIA OFFERS ACCESSIBLE BALLOT FOR VOTERS WITH DISABILITIES
Since 2020, Michigan voters with print or severe disabilities can use an accessible electronic absent voter ballot to vote independently from home. Eligible voters can request this ballot online at Michigan.gov/Vote, mark it using their own assistive technology, and then print and return it to their local clerk’s office
Please contact the Clerk’s Office at (734) 466-2235 if you should have any questions or concerns.
VOTER ASSISTED TERMINALS
Ballot marking devices are available to all voters with special accommodations for hearing, visual, physical and other disabilities. This provides voters the opportunity to independently vote a ballot in complete privacy. This terminal marks the voter's selections on paper that becomes their ballot. Voters can select their choices using a touch screen. Personal adaptives may also be used to assist voters in making their selections. Audio assistance is available. You may easily review and change any of your selections before finalizing and printing your ballot. The completed ballot is then fed into a secure tabulator, which scans and records the votes.
