Lightbulb Phase Out

In recent years, the A-style incandescent bulbs was gradually phased-out as Energy Independence and Security Act efficiency standards are phased-in. The phase-out schedule began with the 100 watt incandescents in January 2012 and ended with new standards for the 40 watt incandescent in 2014.

Effective date for each phase listed below indicates the first date that non-compliant products were prohibited from being manufactured or imported in the United States. (California implemented these standards one year before the rest of the country).
