Disabled residents of Livonia, 18 years and older are eligible to use Livonia Community Transit. Disabled persons, under the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), need to be certified before they will be allowed to schedule rides with Livonia Community Transit.
The application process is necessary to determine eligibility. Evaluation of your request cannot begin until the form is completed and returned to the Livonia Community Transit office. Once the application has been received, a determination will be made within 21 days.
Persons can request an ADA application by calling the Transit office at (734) 466-2700 or by downloading and printing the application (PDF).
A personal care attendant, at no charge, must be present for assistance when clients are not able to travel or board the bus on their own. If it's learned that the client can manage by themselves, full fare will be charged to the caretakers.
Because the size and type of mobility devices can vary and may even exceed the dimensions of a common wheelchair, you should contact Livonia Community Transit (LCT) before making a reservation to see if your device can be accommodated. LCT requires that passengers riding in wheelchairs must be strapped in and the chair secured to the floor. Wheelchairs must have foot rests and wheel locks.
