Easter Fun Ahead

You heard about our March 28 Bunny Brunch. Now the April 3 Egg Hunt is open for registration! Let's keep that Easter fun rolling along.

The Egg Hunt will take place 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at Rotary Park. Egg hunters ages 1-10 will have spaced-out quadrants sectioned off in the outfield where they can do their hunting. Ages 1-4 hunt at 11:30 a.m., ages 5-7 at noon and ages 8-10 at 12:30 p.m. The event is free, but you must pre-register here and plan to arrive 15 minutes before your hunt's start time. Make sure to bring your own basket! Participants will turn in the eggs they collect in exchange for a bag of candy and goodies.

The Bunny Brunch will take place 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at the Kirksey Recreation Center. There won't be food, but patrons will have a time block to pick up a goodie bag and get a photo with the Easter Bunny. Make sure to bring your own camera! Cost is $4 for residents ages 2-15 ($6 non-residents) and $1 for adults ages 16+ ($2 non-residents). Attendees should pre-register for a specific time slot. Space is limited!

Adoption Event at Greenmead!

Thinking of getting a furry addition for your family or just looking to get some petting in? Join us for a special Furry Friends Pet Adoption event 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, March 27, at Greenmead Historical Park.

Tail Waggers, Guardian Angel Animal Rescue, GreyHeart Greyhound Adoption and Providing for Paws are all scheduled to be on-site with an array of dogs in different breeds.

This is a free, weather-permitting outdoor event near the barns that will allow interested attendees to submit adoption applications (no on-site adoptions). Even if you’re not ready to adopt, stop by and show these furry friends some love! Register here!

Learn to Paint Happy Little Trees

The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross is back! Join certified Ross instructor Ted Simpson in painting some “fluffy clouds” and “happy little trees” from each 6-9 p.m. April 9 and 9 a.m. to noon April 18 at the Kirksey Recreation Center.

Each class costs $55 apiece. Register before they fill up!
