Outdoor Pools Opening Soon

Outdoor pool season is so close, we can feel it.

Botsford Pool and Clements Circle Pool will both open with their full summer schedules starting Saturday, June 19. Shelden Pool will have a projected opening of Saturday, July 3, due to construction.

Outdoor swim lessons are also available under the "Aquatics" tab in our registration portal, with the first session starting Monday, June 28. There are also free outdoor swim lessons available June 21-24 for Livonia residents ages 5-12. Space is limited.

Visit LivoniaParks.org for the latest on hours, rates and availability of our outdoor pools. Entry fees are included in the cost of a Kirksey Recreation Center membership, or else can be paid at the gate on a per-visit basis. Season passes are also available.

Drive the Bases with this Tigers-themed Senior Event

Enjoy “Father’s Day the Livonia Woods Way” by “driving the bases” to collect goodies and win Tigers gear from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 18, at the Civic Park Senior Center.

Collect your ballpark snack pack of Cracker Jacks, peanuts, bottled water, hot dogs, chips, a root beer float and enter in a raffle drawing, and pick up a ball diamond punch card for directions on where to pick up each item. This event has been extended to all seniors, regardless of gender. Sign up before it fills up!

Garden Walk Raising Funds for Greenmead Improvements

Tickets for the Saturday, June 26, Garden Walk are now on sale. This fundraiser runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as patrons tour some of the biggest and best gardens throughout the city (must provide own transportation). Proceeds from ticket sales benefit improvements at Greenmead Historical Park through the Friends for the Development of Greenmead group.

You can purchase your $9 advance tickets online via Greenmead.us now. On the day of the event, you can both pick up your tour booklet (if purchased online in advance) or buy them in-person for $10 at both Greenmead’s Simmons-Hill House from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or the Bennett Civic Center Library from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Snapology Camps Start Next Week

Our first set of Snapology summer camps starts next week! The first week will feature a Minecraft camp from 9 a.m. to noon and an Animation Studio (Let’s Make a Movie) from 1-4 p.m.

Both camps run Monday-Thursday, June 21-24, at Greenmead Historical Park for ages 7-14. A full-day option is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. if you sign up for both camps and bring a lunch for the supervised hour break in between. Check out these Snapology camps and several others here. Register in person at the Kirksey Recreation Center for more than one Snapology camp and receive a $30 discount!
