Free Senior Exercise Class Preview Week Aug. 30-Sept. 3

Few words bring humans together quite as well as “FREE,” and that’s exactly what we’re offering the week of Aug. 30-Sept. 3 with eight FREE senior group exercise classes at the Civic Park Senior Center. Five different classes will be available during the week to try out, meet instructors, connect with friends and work on your fitness in preparation for the fall sessions.

Tuesday, Aug. 31 – 12:30 p.m. Line Dance Fitness
Tuesday, Aug. 31 – 1:30 p.m. Senior Yoga

Wednesday, Sept. 1 – 9:30 a.m. Senior Yoga
Thursday, Sept. 2 – 12:30 p.m. Line Dance Fitness
Friday, Sept. 3 – 11 a.m. Senior Yoga and Meditation
Friday, Sept. 3 – 1 p.m. Senior Strength Training

Try out the classes during the preview week and, if you like them, sign up online at LivoniaParks.org (or in person) for a session that begins the week of Sept. 7. Fall class registration began Aug. 9, but the free preview week does not require pre-registration. Just drop in and have fun!

Murder Mystery Coming to Greenmead Sept. 3

We invite you to a wedding to remember. Celebrate with our happy – or not-so-happy – couple when a member of their wedding party is murdered! Join us for our “Til Death Do Us Part” Murder Mystery 7-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at Greenmead Historical Park’s Alexander Blue House.

Trade clues and help the hapless couple figure out whodunnit so they can say “I do” before the wedding hour passes by! Registration is $45 per person and includes the show, hors d’oeuvres, sparkling beverages and wedding cake. Dress to impress! You’re a wedding guest, after all.

'One City, One Book' Events Continuing into the Fall

Have you attended any of the FREE “One City, One Book” events yet? Connect with your community through the 2021 themes of identity, belonging and inclusivity while discussing the book “Arc of Justice” by Detroit historian Kevin Boyle.
