Drive the Cold Winter Away Parlor Games

Join us on Saturday, Jan. 29, for a fun afternoon of 1800s parlor games at the Alexander Blue House at Greenmead. From noon-2 p.m., guests will learn about a variety of games, their rules, and then we'll play! Hot chocolate, coffee, and treats will be provided. This is a great activity for families or small groups of friends to learn new games to play at home.

History Lecture Series - Sojourner Truth

Join us at the Alexander Blue House on Monday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. as we welcome Mary Johnson Grant, member of the Detroit Story League and the National Association of Black Storytellers. A former enslaved woman, Sojourner Truth became an outspoken advocate for abolition, temperance, and civil and women’s rights in the 19th century. This is a free program, no registration required.

Put on your dancing shoes and join us on Thursday, Feb. 24, from 7-9 p.m. at the Alexander Blue House as we celebrate and learn about African American Michiganders' contributions to the sounds and movements of America. This evening will include song, dance, and history, and will be a fun night out for all ages. Advanced registration is required.
