Home Improvement Show is a Remodeler's Dream March 12

The Livonia Home Improvement Show returns to Kirksey Recreation Center’s MAC Gyms 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 12.

Coordinated through the Livonia Chamber of Commerce, the Livonia Home Improvement Show will allow patrons to talk to dozens of vendors about anything from landscaping to roofing, windows, flooring, driveways and more. Whether it be a kitchen or bathroom, interior or exterior, if you’re considering a home remodeling project, this is a great single-stop event to talk to multiple vendors and get a hands on feel for some of the materials you may want to use in your projects.

Women's History Lecture Series Looks at Briggs, Truth, Roosevelt

Greenmead Historical Park is celebrating Women’s History Month with three power lectures focused on women who never gave up nor accepted excuses for the important work they accomplished to make America great. Join Rochelle Danquah at the Alexander Blue House from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 2, 16 and 30, for three free lectures. No registration required.

The first lecture of the series starts March 2 with a look at Ann Shaw Briggs. A Livonia pioneer, she migrated to Livonia Township with her family in the 19th century. This lecture will focus on her diary and letters from Greenmead’s archive, giving us a glimpse into her personal and family life in the community.

Make sure to return March 16 to hear about Sojourner Truth and March 30 to discuss Eleanor Roosevelt.
