Greenmead Historical Village will celebrate Women’s History Month with three power lectures focused on women who never gave up nor accepted excuses for the important work they accomplished to make America great. Join Rochelle Danquah at the Alexander Blue House from 6-7:30 p.m. for one or all of the following free lectures. No registration required for lectures.

Sojourner Truth, a former enslaved African American, was a noted antislavery and women’s suffragist activist. This session will center on her work in the movements in Michigan and America.

Join us on Saturday, March 26, for an up-close look at Michigan’s most interesting herps herps. This event is sold out but sign on to the waiting list and, if there’s enough interest, we could add a second session. Hand-on activities as well as discussions on habitats, populations, diets, and survival skills is included with this program. Students will also get to meet some reptiles and amphibians! This program is for children ages 6-10.

History Lecture Series- Deaf Defying Odds

Join us at the Alexander Blue House on Tuesday, April 5, at 2 p.m. as we celebrate Deaf Awareness Month! Carol Brichford will offer an in-depth look at individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, and their accomplishments and contributions to society. This is a free program, no registration required.

Eggspress Yourself 

Come enjoy the story of Rechenka’s Eggs and create your own beautiful egg artwork to take home! This program takes place in the Friends Meeting House at Greenmead Historical Park from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 9, and is for children ages 4-10.
