Join the Friends for the Development of Greenmead 

The Friends for the Development of Greenmead is a non-profit group dedicated to raising funds for the preservation of Greenmead Historical Park. The Friends are currently planning for the 32nd Annual Garden Walk and are always seeking new members. Join them at their next meeting Thursday, May 7, at 7 p.m. at the Alexander Blue House.

Something Old, New, Borrowed, & Blue

Come explore wedding attire from the past 100 years; along with stories and photos from the day. Something Old, New, Borrowed and Blue will run 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays May 7 and 14, at the Simmons-Hill House on the west side of Greenmead Historical Park. This exhibit will also feature Mrs. Hill's gown, which has been recently restored and is on display for the first time.

Newburg Cemetery Clean Up

Grab your garden gloves and tools! Join the Historical Commission 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at the Newburg Cemetery as we clean up the final resting place of some of our early settlers. Newburg Cemetery is located at 36150 Ann Arbor Trail. Parking is located via the center entrance in the back northeast corner, or along the fence line of the west side exit road.

History Lecture Series - Asian Pacific Americans: Who are we? Where are we? And when did we arrive?

Join us as we welcome Livonia resident and lecturer at University of Michigan Roland Hwang, who will share a history of Asian Pacific Americans and his experiences growing up in Livonia. This program takes place Monday, May 16, 7 p.m. at the Alexander Blue House. This is a free program, no registration required.
