Learn CPR, Train to Become a Lifeguard at The Rec

If you’re a resident (or non-resident) looking to learn CPR, AED and first aid, or one looking for a summer job as a lifeguard, mark your calendars for our upcoming lifesaving courses. Participants can learn CPR, AED and first aid noon-4 p.m. Saturday, May 13, or train to become a certified lifeguard 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, June 21-23 (must attend all three days).

The Stories, Snacks and Crafts series is back 2-3:30 p.m. Friday, May 26, with Flower Power! at Greenmead Historical Park. Best for ages 4-10, come by the Newburg Schoolhouse for storytime, snacks, crafts and more!

Xander Gonzalez Names April Aquatics Team Member of the Month

Congratulations to April’s Aquatics Team Member of the Month: Xander Gonzalez! Xander became a lifeguard with us in June 2022 and quickly excelled in his position. He is never without a smile and is willing to help whenever needed.

Xander enjoys lifeguarding because he is meeting new people and working with his friends on our team, and in a comfortable and enjoyable environment. He loves sushi! Xander is a wonderful asset to our team and we are very proud to have him with us!
