Livonia Spree 5k Fun Run/Walk

Run or walk with us 8:30 a.m. Sunday, June 29, at Eddie Edgar Ice Arena during the Livonia Spree 5k Fun Run sponsored by Ford! All ages are welcome. Run or walk!

This race has a running clock. It's not an officially timed race and is a non-certified course. It only costs $7.50 per participant, a special price for Livonia's 75th anniversary! Register through our online catalog.

Packet pickup is 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, June 27, at the Kirksey Recreation Center. You may also pick up your packet at the June 29 event beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Livonia Spree

The Livonia Spree runs June 24-29! It will be a week will be filled to the brim with funnel cake, fireworks, and fun. Events will include a family pizza night, live music, a cornhole tournament, a 5k, a car show, a pancake breakfast, and, of course, fireworks! The daily schedule is as follows:

  • Tuesday, June 24: 4-11 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 25: 2-11 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 26: 2-11 p.m.
  • Friday, June 27: 2-11 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 28: noon 11 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 29: noon to 11 p.m.

Greenmead Village Tours

Come visit yesterday this summer and take a tour of the village buildings. Self-paced tours will take place 1-4 p.m. Sunday, June 22. Begin at Delia's Treasures Gift Shop (located by the stop sign) for your admission pass. Tours cost $5 per adult and $3 per entrant ages 5-17. Docents will be in each building to share information and answer questions.

You'll also be able to meet Greenmead's Beekeepers! Weather permitting, they'll be stationed outside Delia's Treasures Gift Shop. You'll be able to check in on an observation hive and learn about honeybees!

Important updates regarding changes to the Kirksey Recreation Center schedules and amenities include:

Until the end of June there will not be any drop-in use of MAC 2 due to roof installation. The leisure pool at The Rec will be closed July 4 to mid-August for pool deck renovations and water slide maintenance. The splash pad at The Rec is currently closed as it is rebuilt, and it will be open mid-Summer.
