Fall I Registration Opens

Member and Livonia resident registration is open for our Fall I classes. Non-member non-residents of Livonia can sign up for classes Thursday, Aug. 14. Check out the most recent issue of Connections Magazine for all the latest events and classes coming up this fall! These programs will run Sept. 2-Oct. 26. You can register online or in person at The Rec, Greenmead Historical Park, or the Civic Park Senior Center!

39th Annual Motor City All-Family AMC meet

The 39th Annual Motor City All-Family AMC Meet will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17. This meet will be at Greenmead Historical Park, and it will include a car show, historic displays, raffle prizes, and more. If you would like to learn more about The Great Lakes Classic AMC Club or register your AMC vehicle for this meet, visit their official website. Site admission is $5 for ages 13 and older.

The Great Lakes Classic AMC Club is a local Michigan Chapter of The American Motors Owners Association. Their mission is to provide a forum for the exchange of information and parts between owners and enthusiasts of American Motor Corporation. They assist in the restoration, preservation, and promotion of these vehicles.

End of Summer Dog Swim

Bring dogs big and small to swim at Botsford Pool! This fun dog-only swim is always a blast. Your pups will be able to doggy paddle with us 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17.

Pay $5 per resident and $8 per non-resident onsite at the entrance. Owners must provide a valid city of residence Dog License along with proof of current vaccinations for Rabies, DHLPP or DAPP (Distemper) and Bordetella. Lifeguards will be onsite for the safety of dog owners, but dogs swim at their own risk. Owners will not be allowed to swim with the dogs. Aggressive behavior will not be tolerated to any degree, and any aggressive behavior will be cause for staff to ask you to leave. There will be no refunds for any reason.

Important updates regarding changes to the Kirksey Recreation Center schedules and amenities include:

To access the MAC gyms Aug. 11-22, guests will need to take a detour through Main Gym 2. Follow posted signs for directions. The leisure pool at The Rec will be closed later this week for pool deck renovations and water slide maintenance. Follow our Facebook page and Instagram for the most recent updates. The splash pad at The Rec is currently closed as it is being rebuilt, and it will open this summer.
