Fall II Registration

Monday, Oct. 6, was the first day for Kirksey Recreation Center members to register for our Fall II classes. Check out the most recent issue of Connections magazine for all the latest events and classes coming up this fall.

Non-member Livonia residents can register Tuesday, Oct. 7, and non-residents can register Thursday, Oct. 9. There will be no classes Oct. 31 or Nov. 26-27.

Livonia Symphony Orchestra Presents 'Visiting the Past'

Join the Livonia Symphony Orchestra for “Visiting the Past” 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Louis Schmidt Auditorium in Clarenceville High School. The concert features Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2 and soloist Dr. Jui Chao Wang, the LSO Principal Cellist. Tickets are $30 for adults, $10 for students, $15 each for groups of 10 or more, or $100 for a season pass to four concerts. Purchase tickets through the Livonia Symphony Orchestra website, at the door, or by calling (734) 421-1111.

Healthy Livonia Turkey Trot 2025

The Healthy Livonia Turkey Trot 2025 is approaching! This 5k fun run/walk will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, and runners will take off from Bicentennial Park.

This fun run is a non-certified course, and no bibs, chips, or awards will be given out. Registration is $20; if you want to guarantee that you receive a t-shirt, you must register before Oct. 13! You can register online today.

You can also register onsite before the race, but you must bring exact change or a check. If you do secure a shirt, you can pick it up Friday, Oct. 31, from The Rec or 8:30 a.m. at Bicentennial Park on the day of the race! You can enter the Turkey Trot raffle to win prizes generously donated by local businesses and organizations. All proceeds from this event and raffle will go to the Livonia Goodfellows organization.

Important updates regarding changes to the Kirksey Recreation Center schedules and amenities include:

  • October: The new gym space opens on the west end of the building.
  • October: The new playground opens on the south exterior of the building.
