    Join us on Friday, Oct. 23 for our Shadows from the Past Halloween Walk. Greenmead’s historic buildings serve as the backdrop for this event! Participants will walk through the village, stopping at stations to receive goodies and treats for the kids. Costumes are encouraged! Tickets are $5 per child and must be pre-purchased before the event. Sessions run every 15 minutes from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tickets available online through Parks & Recreation and at the Greenmead Office with cash, check, or money order.     Join us on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 6-8 p.m. for a special fall edition of Music From the Heart! The Livonia Arts Commission is proud to present Devin Scillian & Arizona Son Band! Television viewers in Michigan and Ontario know him as their evening news anchor on WDIV-TV, NBC in Detroit. And music lovers know him as the winner of the prestigious Detroit Music Award for Best Country Performer. An accomplished musician and songwriter, Devin has released four albums of his original songs. *Music From the Heart has a new location this year!! All concerts will take place on the east side of the Jack E. Kirksey Recreation Center, 15100 Hubbard. Please plan on parking in the Five Mile lot. Alternate parking is available in Rec Center parking lot. Events are subject to change, cancellation and social distancing restrictions due to COVID-19. 1,000 people maximum.     The 2020 Healthy Livonia Turkey Trot will be a Virtual Turkey Trot. Complete your 3.2 mile walk or run on your own. Register before Monday, Oct. 26 and receive the official Turkey Trot T-Shirt for this year’s event. Register online or at the Parks and Recreation desk for $15. Participants that register after Oct. 26 will not receive a Turkey Trot T-Shirt. We will be collecting nonperishable food items for the Livonia Goodfellows between Nov. 1-30. Drop off your nonperishable food items at the Kirksey Recreation Center and help us help our neighbors in need!

  2. Fall Advanced Pickleball Tournament

    Come join the fun for an advanced Pickleball tournament on Saturday, Oct. 24 at Bicentennial Park! This is a non-sanctioned, self-officiated event. For all games, the first team to get 11 points wins. Each team is guaranteed five pool play games within their group of six teams. The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoff bracket. Prizes awarded for the best team costumes! Registration runs until Oct. 9.
