Home Stretch for Donations

With the holiday season upon us, not everyone may be able to celebrate how they would like. We're looking to help those families in need.

The Livonia Goodfellows are collecting nonperishable food items through Monday, Nov. 30. They can be dropped off at the Kirksey Recreation Center throughout the month of November during the recreation center's regular business hours. Although many activities are canceled due to the Nov. 18 MDHHS emergency order, the center will still be open.

The Civic Park Senior Center will also have its traditional “Mitten Tree” up in the lobby during the month of November. Help us decorate the tree with new mittens, scarves, and caps! Your donations will go to the Livonia Goodfellows, who will distribute them to local children in need. Although the facility is closed through Dec. 8, you can drop off your donation items in a curbside donation box outside the senior center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Friday, or call (734) 466-2555 to make an appointment to drop off your items.
