  1. Livonia Community Theatre - Kids Camp - Disney's Broadway Junior Summer Showcase

    August 2, 2021 - August 6, 2021

    Be prepared! We can’t hold it back anymore! This summer we’ll see how far we can go to provide the best summer theatre camp for Grades 4-6! The pandemic has brought around a whole new world of performing options and we are excited to be exploring the idea of a hybrid camp this year. Led by a team of intern instructors and a local music teacher, campers will learn and perform a handful of songs and dances to record and put into a final showcase that will be shared with friends and family.   3. Music From the Heart featuring Steve King and the Dittilies

    Join us on Thursday, August 5 at 7p.m. for Music From the Heart featuring Steve King and the Dittilies! Steve King and the Dittilies is a Motor City Legend and is the official Band of the State of Michigan! Upbeat and Versatile, they perform music’s biggest hits throughout the decades, and truly have something for everybody! Traditionally an 'oldies' band, the Dittilies' repertoire focuses on 30 years in the past, spiced with topical comedy and delivered with world-class sizzle. All concerts will take place on the east side of the Jack E. Kirksey Recreation Center, 15100 Hubbard. Please plan on parking in the Five Mile lot.   4. LivoniaFit Challenge

    August 7, 2021, 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. @ Jack E. Kirksey Recreation Center

    Join us for the NEW LivoniaFit Challenge 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Kirksey Recreation Center's south parking lot. Challenge yourself mentally and physically with a unique outdoor event patterned off the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT). Lift the heaviest, throw the furthest, complete as many reps as possible and move the fastest. Take the challenge! Heats will begin every 20 minutes starting at 8 a.m., with challengers completing the deadlift, power throw, hand-release push ups, sprint-drag-carry, TRX pull up and a two-mile run. The $40 entry fee includes the event, T-shirt (if registered by July 12) and refreshments at the event. Register by July 26 to participate. There will be multiple age divisions per gender and awards will be given to the top male and female in each age division. Register online at by July 26.   6. Community Choice Credit Union - Livonia Backpack Giveaway

    August 12, 2021, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. @ Community Choice Credit Union

    Credit Union team members will be ready to hand out 400 backpacks filled with school supplies and other learning essentials available to kids who attend while supplies last. To enhance the family-friendly atmosphere of the event, Chef Tony will be on-site cooking up hot dogs, and Kona Ice will be providing shaved ice for those who attend. As part of their mission to focus on healthy living in Livonia, Healthy Livonia will also share some goodies with everyone who attends. This is a true community event, and everyone is welcome; credit union membership is not required. To accommodate everyone’s health needs, these will be drive-up events. The credit union asks that everyone remain in their car. There is a limit of one backpack per child; children must be present to receive their backpack.
