Snow Emergency Options
Snow Emergency Notification Options
When the City declares a Snow Emergency Alert, it is very important to remove all vehicles from the streets to allow snow plows to complete their task. In recognition of this, the City offers multiple ways for you to be alerted to a declared Snow Emergency. Please note that text messages have a 160 character limit and message and data rates may apply. Please check with your provider and understand your plan before subscribing to SMS/Text Messaging.
Email and Text Messaging
Subscribe to receive snow emergency alerts by email or text message.
The City will not re-send any email notification that is rejected due to an out-of-office auto-reply or an anti-spam or anti-virus blocker. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that his or her network accepts emails.
The City will not, as policy, sell, forward or support subscriber lists for commercial use. However, the list may become public information, but will not be sold for public use. Please note that text messages have a 160 character limit and message and data rates may apply. Please check with your provider and understand your plan before subscribing to SMS/Text Messaging.
When a snow emergency is declared, the home page of the City’s website will have an announcement added to the top of the middle section of the page, notifying you of the snow emergency and what actions to take.
