Tax Payments at City Hall
For payments in person, please bring the entire tax statement to the Treasurer's Department. For your convenience, there is a 24-hour red drop box located on the east side of City Hall in the circle drive. Please address your envelope: Attn: Treasurer’s Department. NO CASH. City offices will be closed on Dec. 25, 26 and January 1 and 2.
INSTRUCTIONS TO ACCESS TAX INFORMATION VIA WEBSITE AT LIVONIATAX.ORG
Scroll down to "ONLINE PROPERTY INQUIRY SYSTEM" and click on "I AGREE, PROCEED TO THE ONLINE PROPERTY INQUIRY SYSTEM." BS&A Online will open and default in the search "By Address" field. Enter the property address you’d like to search for and click the Search button. NOTE: If searching by address, enter the street name without the words Road, Street, Avenue, etc.
Click on the line with the address/information you are searching for. The selected line will turn blue. Once the property information loads, click on the TAX INFORMATION tab under the property picture. Scroll down and the taxes are listed by year and season. To see a detailed account of the bill, click on the triangle to the left of the tax year. This will open up an itemized tax bill. To print a copy for your records, scroll down to the bottom of the Tax Bill Breakdown section and click on the link "Click here for a printer-friendly version of ’X’ tax information.
General Information
Due Dates
Summer Taxes are mailed the first week of July. Taxes are payable without penalty through Sept. 14. Beginning on Sept. 15, interest of 1% will be applied for the entire month of September. On Oct. 1, an additional 1% per month will be added until paid in full.
Winter Taxes are mailed the first week of December. Winter taxes are payable without penalty through Feb. 14.

Return the lower portion of the tax statement with your payment in the envelope that was enclosed with your bill. A paid receipt will be returned if you include the complete tax statement and a self-addressed stamped envelope. Partial payments are accepted for current property taxes only.
Several Livonia financial institutions accept tax bill payments. Check to see if your bank or credit union accepts tax payments.

Penalty: All delinquent tax payments on REAL and PERSONAL PROPERTY will include a 4% penalty plus 1% interest per month
- Automatic Tax Payment Plan: When enrolled, you will receive a tax statement that reflects the due date when the tax payment will be deducted from your financial institution. For the current tax year, payment will debit on Sept. 14 for summer taxes and either Dec. 31 or Feb. 29 for winter taxes, based on the option selected. There is a $25 charge for any returned payments. To learn more, call (734) 466-2246.
- By Internet: There is a convenience fee of 2.8%* charged and retained by our third-party processor, Point & Pay LLC, for this service and will be added to each transaction. There is a minimum transaction fee of $2*. Point & Pay will provide the amount of the convenience fee and you will have the opportunity to decline to proceed with the transaction. Your credit card statement will reflect the amount of your tax payment and the amount of the convenience fee separately (will be shown as PNPLivonia SERVICE FEE.) Point & Pay accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Debit cards will be processed as a credit transaction and subject to the same convenience fee of 2.8%*. An alternative option to using a debit card is an electronic check. To process as an electronic check, you will need your financial institution’s routing number and account number. The fee is $3* for up to $10,000 and $10* over $10,000.
- By phone: Dial (833) 440-3334 and an automated system will take you through the process. You will need your parcel number to proceed which is located on the tax bill just above the property address and legal description, in the upper right-hand margin, or on the stub in bold print. The fee* to use this option is stated in the By Internet information above.
- Payment In Person: Bring the entire tax statement to the Treasurer’s Department, First Floor, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. We accept checks, cash , credit/debit cards and e-check payments. The fee* to use credit/debit and e-check options are stated in the By Internet information above. There is a $25 charge any returned payments.
You may also drop off your payment in our red drop box located on the east side of City Hall in the circle drive. NO CASH. Please indicate Treasurer’s Office on the envelope. Payments deposited in the drop box by midnight on the tax due date are considered as paid on time.

TAX DEFERRAL INFORMATION
Qualifications for tax deferral:
Tax deferrals are granted to principal residence homeowners who are totally and permanently disabled, blind, paraplegic, quadriplegic, hemiplegic, 62 years of age or older, the unmarried surviving spouse of a person who was 62 years of age or older at the time of death, eligible service person, eligible veteran or an eligible widow or widower and whose total household income in the prior tax year did not exceed $40,000.
SUMMER TAX DEFERRAL:
Residents meeting the above-stated qualifications have until Sept. 14 in which to file the application with the City Treasurer’s Office to defer their summer tax bill payment. Qualifying persons have until Feb. 14 of the following year in which to pay their summer tax bill without interest. If not paid by Feb. 14, the applicable interest of 6% would be added.
WINTER TAX DEFERRAL:
Winter taxes may also be deferred for those principal residence homeowners that meet the above-stated qualifications and have filed for but not yet received their State Income Tax refund. Winter tax deferral applications must include a copy of the homeowner’s Michigan Homestead Property Tax Credit Claim MI-1040CR along with the application. Applications must be received by the City Treasurer by Feb. 14. Qualifying persons have until April 30 to pay their winter taxes to the Wayne County Treasurer. If not paid by April 30, the applicable penalty of 4% and interest of 1% per month from March 1 will apply until paid in full.
