Livonia Community Transit

Program

Livonia Community Transit (LCT) is a transportation service for seniors 60 years old and older and disabled residents of Livonia.  Our service gives people the ability to get to doctor appointments, shopping areas, physical therapy, salons, employment and more. Transportation is available to locations within the City of Livonia and up to one (1) mile outside the city limits for medical appointments only.  Only residents of Livonia who reside in Livonia are eligible for service.  Livonia Transit cannot accommodate children younger than 18 years of age.

As a transportation option, we also offer the Shopping Bus and the Medical Bus.  The Shopping Bus is strictly for passengers that like going shopping as a group and the Medical Bus is for medical appointments only.  Both services schedule passengers on a first, come, first serve basis.  There is no charge for either of these services, but reservations are necessary.  For more details, please call (734) 466-2700.

Making Reservations

Scheduling is arranged on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling the Livonia Transit office at (734) 466-2700. If you are using Livonia Transit for the first time, you will be asked your name, address, telephone number, date of birth and mobility status.

Transit Fares

The cost per ride is $2 each way. Passengers must have exact fare or a bus ticket when boarding the bus. Drivers do not carry cash so they cannot make change. Individual tickets cost $2. Punch tickets, good for ten rides, can be purchased for $20.

Purchasing bus Tickets

Bus tickets can be purchased from a driver.  The driver can only accept cash or check as payment. Checks should be made out to the City of Livonia.  Lost or stolen tickets are not replaceable or refundable.

TO WORK SERVICE

Livonia Community Transit also provides "To Work" service for passengers coming to Livonia from the SMART and Detroit Department of Transportation (D-DOT) bus systems. Our To Work service takes riders to selected locations only. Riders are picked up from the SMART and D-DOT hubs in the morning and dropped off at the hub again for the return trip in the afternoon. There is no mid-day service. Please check our SMART/D-DOT page for more information.
